Micro-Rocket Thrusters: Ventions’ micro-rocket systems focus on cm-size, liquid bipropellant motors in the 100-1000lbf thrust class to realize high T/W engines that can be manufactured in a low-cost, batch fabrication manner. The engines are designed for use with a variety of propellants including LOX, Hydrogen Peroxide and storables.

Ventions has already completed hot-fire demonstrations of regeneratively-cooled, liquid bipropellant engines operating in a multi-engine configuration under DARPA funded projects, and is currently working to incorporate these engines into integrated propulsion systems and vehicle stages for nano-satellite launchers and other applications.

Small-Scale Turbopumps: Ventions’ efforts in this area focus on developing high-speed, turbomachinery-based pumps in the small-scale (1-2" diameter rotors), for on-board pressurization in space-based systems. The pumps are designed to be driven by a compact, high-speed electrical motor, as well as via a turbine on a gas generator or expander cycle.

Fabricated using a novel approach that allows for realization of complex aerodynamic shapes, Ventions has already demonstrated the high-risk components of the technology under NASA-funded efforts, and is currently exploring options for integration in ascent vehicle applications.
