Mr. Lloyd Droppers currently serves as Chief Engineer of Propulsion Systems at Ventions.
As Ventions' first employee, Mr. Droppers has been responsible for the detailed design of approximately
15 different rocket engines and igniters over the last 4 years (with a wide range of propellants including Oxygen,
Methane, Hydrogen Peroxide, JP-7, Alcohol and Nitrous Oxide). He has overseen the development and
operation of four different rocket test stands, and served as Test Engineer for over 100 rocket firings.
Prior to joining Ventions, Mr. Droppers completed his M.S and B.S in
Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
from Purdue University. His graduate research, funded by NASA-MSFC, included testing the
heat flux of Liquid Oxygen and gaseous Hydrogen injectors to provide CFD validation data on the planned J2-X engine.
Mr. Droppers also founded a hybrid rocket group at Purdue which built and
flew a 800lbf Hydrogen Peroxide hybrid sounding rocket.
He has previously also held summer intership positions at Blue Origin, In Space, LLC and Ball Aerospace
and Systems, Corp.
